Go to a beauty supply store and get a product called Red Out, it's in the same isle as hair dye. If you cannot find that, buy another dye in an "ash brown" shade. It will tone down the brassiness of the red.

it depends on how red it is now and what your natural color was.

if it was brown, you probably got the brown color with the gold bases and you should get the ones with the blue bases. in other words, stay away from the colors that say "golden"

you will have to go get a dark brown to cover it and be a dark haired brown/ black until it fades. sometime this can be good because as it fades, the red/gold highlights come out and it looks really good.

Don't try to fix it yourself...And if you can wait, don't fix it immediately...It's not good to use chemicals on your hair very often; they'll weaken it.

ok dark hair ppl that wanna change their hair to lighter shades of brown- blondish WILL HAVE A REDDISH/COPPERISH RESULT

what i did is that got Clairol Bleach blond yes Clairol bleach blond is different than loreal and all other products, it will bleach ur hair

once bleached put watever color u want, and if u want a light brown color don't put the new color for 20 or 30 mins like they say, i once left very dark brown for 3 mins after i bleached and got a very nice result

Next time look for ash brown, or dark ash brown. Golden browns, mahogany, those all have gold and red in them. Ash blond or Ash brown don't.

If you are going to redye your hair now, it's likely to really get damaged. I'd suggest going with a semipermanent one for now, or get one of those shampoos and conditioners that have a wash of color in them. That might help without damaging your hair.

Before you do anything, I'd suggest a deep conditioning treatment, and leave it on for a couple of hours, maybe even overnight. Hair therapy is one I have used fairly often, not expensive and does a good job. Aussie has one that is really good too. I think it's called Deep.

Good luck, I fell asleep with Auburn hair dye on my head once, and woke up with hair the color of a plum crayon. I understand your problem...

You can actually dye your hair again and it wont damage it. This is what a clarrol rep told my mom when her color didnt come out right some yrs ago. However do NOT color and perm. Now go back and buy red or you could go the expensive route go to the salon have them strip the color and recolor you or just recolor

i did the same thing if its dark red you can dye it back if its seriously bright then u can still dye it but it will kind of have some red touch to it
