Red will always be in your hair, red is a real hard color to get it. Depending how dark you want to go, you can die it a dark brown or black. The red will fade out with these colors or not be as noticeable.

If your skin tone and eyebrows are light try going with a light brown. If your coloring is darker, try going with dark brown.

I think you should get an auburn color. That way, you won't look weird withought your natural color. Auburn is brown with a slight red tint. It will get rid of the unwanted, noticable red.

A medium or dark Ash Brown. Ash brown does not contain red hues...it acts as a drabber for red. Then go to a beauty supply place and get a "Red Drabber"...they'll know what you're talking about.

i have reddish brown myself, it is my natural color

there are two ways:

golden base, but it will have orange or honey shade

or

ash base (my favorite). i die ash medium brown with hightlite, looks beautiful

but once again, i would say go to a pro. at least for the first time, until you master it yourself.

I'd say just go for a similar brown (assuming you are using box dye), and make sure it has no red undertones in it... it would be a more yellowy brown. If anything, go for a darker brown rather than a lighter one since it seems to me that whenever anyone lightens their hair it brings out the red.

You need to get a color with ash in it-but you have to be careful it doesn't go green. You need to go to Sally beauty suplies. Ask someone that works there they can help you better. You can buy the color and the cream mix. They also sell colors that are called brass busters (that helps keep the red out ) I would get enough to dye your hair twice and the first time you dye your hair leave the dye on for half the time suggested (to prevent hair from turning green) and in two weeks time dye your hair again but that time leave it on for full time-- remember a color with ash that is a brass buster-- I use medium ash brass buster--beware of any color that has golden in the title( it will cause the red)
