I assume you mean Garnier Color, and the reason is that those models in the commercials, and print ads, have either had there hair stripped to a lighter color so the red would really pop, or they didn't actually use Garnier Hair Color on the model.

However in your case what color is your natural hair color, or rather what color was your hair prior to using the garnier. If your hair is somewhat dark and you want a bright vibrant red then you need to lighten your hair a little before coloring it with the red hair dye. (However not to light, you don't want pink hair). Also remember red hair dye has the fewest molecules so it fades very quickly. They sell color shampoos at Sally Beauty Supply that can liven up and extend the life of your hair color.

I could better answer your question though if I knew what color your hair was prior to coloring it with the Garnier, and what the color of the dye is, what red, and Auburn red, or a bright red. get a different brand... a better quality one. if you use cheap brands, its not going to come out the way you want. spend the money if its important to you.

it may just be the way the dye reacted to your natural color. or it may be the natural oils or products in your hair. your best bet is to have it done professionally.

Your hair will never turn out exactly as the color on the box because many of the models' hair have been double processed. If you really want to have your hair a certain color, but you can't achieve it at home, go to a salon and get it proffessionaly done.

Hair dyes you buy at stores never turn out the color shown on the box. That is why it is so cheap to buy them there, plus how would they know anything about your hair, every ones hair is different. You should just go to a hair salon and tell them what you want and they will get your hair to that red color you want. I know its more money but you are going to end up spending more in the long run if you keep buying those hair dyes at the store. If going to a salon is not an option, go to a local beauty supply and buy some developer along with a bottle of the color of dye you want. Guarantee you will get better results this way!
