i am a red headed italian. my mom and dad have both parents from sicily and have dark skin and black hair. i have dark skin with dark red hair. all my brothers and sisters have black hair, along w/ all of my family. i know forsure im not adopted and that my moms husband is my dad because i look like him. my family has went back 10s of generations in the blood line and every person in the generations before us was from sicily and is sicilian. HOW THE HELL DID I GET MY RED HAIR?

It just happens, my family is from italian descent, my mom and her brother both are red heads with freckles, her other brother, and two sisters are dark haired, dark skinned and dark eyes.....and my grandparents were from Calabria.

recevcie genes. they can skip a lot of generations. my friend says people in her family get erad hair every 5 generartions yours can be a longer number of generations to get red hair

An Irish relative? The same way, I as a Black woman, got an Irish last name.

No, seriously genetic mutation, recessive genes. None of us really know who all are relatives were. My mother had a brother who was a lighter complexzioned Black man with freckles, and the other brother, a little darker complexioned also had freckles. Go figure? My maternal grandmother was dark skinned, and my maternal grandfather was Black, Native American and White ancestry. Between the two of them they produced a group of children who could honestly be described as a "gumbo."
